The Opportunity:

The Legal/ Corporate Assistant provides coordination for a variety of functions in support of the vision, mission and business plan of AgeCare. Working under limited guidance, this role is responsible for: Assisting the General Counsel and Director of Corporate Services in a broad range of corporate and health law legal matters, including day to day administrative support, compilation of Board documents, contracts and document management, document drafting and review, provision of resources to clients, research, project management and larger file management.

About this Legal/ Corporate Assistant 1 Year Temporary Full Time Role:

What you’ll do:

  • Responsible for the coordination and/or administration of standardized work methods, protocols, policies and procedures related to on-going corporate services and legal matters
  • Provides support for all board functions, including preparation and distribution of Board materials, statistics and reports
  • Offers input and support into the processes of identification to resolution of issues, including follow up
  • Managers routine issues/situations according to policy/procedure
  • Conducts factual and legal research: culls relevant information from a variety of sources

What you’ll need:

  • A minimum of an undergrad degree, paralegal/legal assistant certification
  • Previous 5 years’ of related legal experience in private and/or public sector legal environment or in an organization of significant size, complexity and diversity is preferred
  • Ability to demonstrate successful problem solving and conflict resolution skills;
  • Experience as a team member in project planning, execution, reporting, monitoring and evaluation
