The Assistant Manager will report to and support the Administrator in the overall operations of the community and have a focus on leading the Hospitality team in food, housekeeping, resident laundry and janitorial services.  He/she performs and/or appropriately delegates tasks such as hiring, training, coaching and administrative duties for assigned employees.

About this Full Time Assistant Manager position

What you’ll do:

  • Responsible for the full operation of food services, housekeeping, and resident laundry within the Senior’s Retirement Community
  • Works with the Administrator in the development, prioritization and implementation of the Community’s business planning goals, occupancy and overall resident experience
  • Identifies, evaluates and monitors all service continuity risks related to hospitality including hospitality services and environmental and facility risks
  • Works closely with both the VP Support Services and Facilities, and the Director Communications and Marketing to build and maintain occupancy levels within the Community
  • Accountable for defining the standards & protocols for Housekeeping & Laundry Services

What you’ll need:

  • Secondary Education preferably in related industry or business setting
  • Secondary Education specialized in Management, Hotel/Restaurant
  • Advanced Food Safety Certification is an asset
  • Solid understanding of basic bookkeeping and/or budget-responsibility
  • Good working knowledge of computers (Word, Excel and Outlook)
