The Beverly Centre Glenmore operates under the provincial Nursing Home Act and the Continuing Care Health Service Standards which outline comprehensive regulations governing the operations of care centres throughout Alberta. Additionally, each care centre with Alberta Health Services has a service agreement that clearly details care and service requirements such as:

  • Hours of care and type of care to be provided
  • Staffing levels and qualifications required to provide care
  • Care and service quality improvement initiatives and objectives
  • Monitoring and reporting requirements

Care Funding

Alberta Health Services, through funds provided by the Government of Alberta (Alberta Health and Wellness), is responsible for funding health care. This funding provides for:

Nursing Services

  • Registered Nurses (RN’s)
  • Licensed Practical Nurses (LPN’s)
  • Health Care Aides (HCA's)

Therapy Services

  • Rehabilitation , Occupational Therapy, and other therapy services as required
  • Recreation Therapy

Social Work Support

Registered Dietitian

Pharmacy Services including medications

Accommodation Rates

It is the responsibility of each resident to pay the accommodation rate as established by the Government of Alberta (Alberta Seniors). The resident accommodation rate pays for services such as:

  • Resident room
  • Food Services
  • Maintenance
  • Utilities (natural gas, electricity, water)
  • Building insurance
  • Administrative services

All rates subject to change and are set by the Government of Alberta.

Financial assistance for eligible residents is available through Alberta Seniors.

Admission Process

If you are interested in admission to The Beverly Centre or any long term care centre in Alberta, all potential residents must:

  • Be assessed for care centre placement by the Calgary Health Region
    (943-LINK or Community Care Access 943-1920)
  • Have residency status in the Province of Alberta which requires:
  • 10 consecutive years of residency in Canada at the time of application for care centre admission, or
  • 3 consecutive years residency in Alberta any time during your lifetime, or
  • 3 consecutive months residing in the Calgary Health Region prior to application

If you do not meet the above requirements and still wish to be admitted, The Beverly Centre offers a private pay option at our Beverly Centre Glenmore site.
