Nearly 200 skilled and caring staff work at The Beverly
Centre Lake Midnapore to ensure the highest level of care
and wellness services are provided to each of our residents,
24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Care & Life Enrichment Services
Nursing Services
The Nursing Department at The Beverly Centre
provides professional and personal care designed to meet
the physical, psychological, social and spiritual needs
of our residents on a 24-hour basis. Our Care Teams work
in coordination with other professionals within the centre
such as our Physiotherapist, Recreation Therapist, Social
Work Coordinator and Dietitian. This coordination creates
an individualized plan of care for each resident that reflects
the goals and input of the resident, their family members
and physicians.
Medical Services
Upon admission to The Beverly Centre, a
resident may continue to receive medical care from their
own physician or may opt to have their care supervised by
our Medical Site Leader until a physician of choice is selected.
For residents without a designated physician, The Beverly
Centre maintains a short list of physicians who have agreed
to take care of new patients.
Food Services
The Beverly Centre provides residents with
three nourishing meals a day plus snacks and refreshments
each morning, afternoon and evening. Upon admission and
then at regular intervals throughout the year, each resident
is assessed by a Registered Dietitian for special dietary
requirements and food preferences to ensure that our meal
service satisfies their individual needs. Family members
are always welcome to join their loved one for a meal and
may purchase an individual meal ticket from our Receptionist.
Private dining for special occasions can be served in our
Family Dining Room and can be arranged with either a catered
menu or our regular meal service.
Recreation Therapy
Our Recreation Therapy Department creates
stimulating, leisure programming tailored to our residents’
needs and capabilities. Through these programs, residents
continue to pursue leisure interests, develop new skills,
enhance their self-esteem and build rewarding relationships
with other residents, staff and volunteers.
Physiotherapy/Rehabilitation
The Beverly Centre employs a licensed Physiotherapist
along with Therapy Aides to maximize resident movement and
function. Exercise programs are individually designed to
maintain or improve mobility where needed. The Physiotherapist
provides a vital link with community clinics and health
care agencies to augment our in-house services as each resident’s
care requires.
Social Work Services
Upon arrival at The Beverly Centre, residents
and their families meet with our Social Work Coordinator
to become acquainted and share the resident’s history
and family network. Our Social Work Coordinator is available
on an ongoing basis to assist residents and families through
their adjustment to continuing care and other important
life issues.
Medication & Pharmacy Services
The Nursing Department is responsible for
obtaining medication orders from the admitting physician
and for administering medications to the residents as directed
by the physician. Medications and pharmacy services are
provided by a dedicated pharmacy that works closely with
our health care team to meet our residents’ needs.
Religious & Spiritual Care
The Beverly Centre provides a variety of
religious services and spiritual programs led by clergy
from the community to meet the needs of our broad and multi-cultural
resident population. Special services are held to commemorate
many national holidays such as Remembrance Day and involve
members of the Calgary community from young children to
dignitaries to senior war veterans. Memorial Services are
held periodically at The Beverly Centre and are open to
residents, family and staff as a tribute to residents who
have passed away.
Volunteer Services
The Beverly Centre actively recruits, screens
and trains volunteers from the community to participate
in various daily activities throughout the centre. Volunteer
involvement maximizes support for our residents, encourages
connections between our seniors and their community and
enriches the lives of all involved. For more information
on becoming a Volunteer, please click on the Volunteering

Education Services
Education is pursued with fervor and commitment
at The Beverly Centre. In keeping with our vision to continuously
expand and improve our delivery of care and services, The
Beverly Centre offers ongoing in-service education to staff,
volunteers, residents and their families facilitated by
our full-time Inservice Coordinator. We encourage and support
our staff in their educational endeavors within and beyond
our centre to maintain the highest level of professional
excellence within every department.
