Our Philosphy ~ Since 1998

The Vision and Mission of AgeCare Communities is the key focus of our organization and remains the guiding principles that assists us in our day to day work and the future projects we undertake. Bringing it to life requires organizational excellence and dedicated staff members. We achieve this through our overarching philosophy to keep AgeCare a family based company.

Our family is our residents and our staff.  Together we are AgeCare.

Striving toward continued excellence, requires a collaborative and consultative leadership structure that involves the input of our residents, staff and families; on all aspects of how we conduct our business.  Through this model we continue to provide the best quality of life for each individual who chooses to make AgeCare their home – our Mission.

We believe communities should be “whole” and “complete”

Families are comprised of multiple generations and we believe our communities should reflect this. Therefore we have a keen focus on having intergenerational programming within our communities. With the addition of daycare centres and programming to connect children to our elders, we believe strongly that the lives of all participants are enriched. Communities are only complete and whole when they are rich with a mosaic of ages, cultures and abilities.

Living with Friends, Creating a Community ~ My Neighbourhood

AgeCare Communities,  has a philosophy of "living in place" which is the key hallmark of our communities. We have all heard of "aging in place" and the concept is a good one, provided we are focused on living a vibrant and enriching life as well, over just remaining in one place. 

We have supported and created, for over a decade, the concept of neighbourhood living.   Within our communities, each floor and key resident room areas of our communities receive a name that resonates with our residents.  Generally historical names or key demographic landmarks to assist our residents in finding their way back to their suites and to make each area of the building is own "community or neighbourhood".  A warm and welcoming neighbourhood feeling creates a foundation for friendship and a sense of belonging to something special.

Further to this, some neighbourhood are created with specialized care models, such as memory care neighbourhoods.  We do our best to ensure that our residents are living and enjoying life, in the best possible setting, designed for their needs.

Also, the ability to remain with the people you trust and know, is why AgeCare Communities provide the full spectrum of care and services in one setting or campus.  Our design model for communities provides a setting that allows our residents to age with dignity, with access to the care they need when they need it.  We create communities that are able to adapt to our residents needs, offering a level of commitment to their wellness and future - not available in other models.
