CARE LEADER ~ Governor's Walk Retirement Community ~ Ottawa
We are seeking to fill the Full Time position of CARE LEADER to provide leadership to the RPNs and PCWs and management of Resident Care Services to the Residents of our boutique-style Seniors Community of Governor's Walk located on the edge of Rockcliffe.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
This position requires an energetic, caring mature and positive individual who enjoys mentoring others and working with Seniors.
Reporting to the General Manager, the successful candidate will excel at the management of overall care operations of a Seniors' Community and effectively hire, mentor and retain quality staff to work with our residents who choose to call Governor’s walk their Home. He/she ensures the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of the overall operation of the Nursing Team in accordance with current applicable provincial standards, guidelines and regulations, to ensure the highest standard of resident care is delivered and maintained at all times.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Employee Leadership - Provides leadership, supervision and mentorship to nursing and care staff and oversees the allocation of tasks based on employees’ respective qualifications and strengths. Establishes schedules and conducts periodic performance appraisals.
Analyzes and assesses overall nursing care and care delivered to residents with respect to their profile. Supervises the application, quality and continuity of care. Analyzes complaints, proposes solutions and formulates recommendations to management.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Undergraduate degree or college diploma in nursing;
• Member of the Registered Nurses Association of Ontario or Registered Practical Nurse Association of Ontario;
• 5 years of experience, including 2 to 3 years in a management position;
• Bilingualism (French and English), written and spoken an asset;
• Experience in geriatrics is an asset;
• Good knowledge of computers; (Word, Excel and Outlook);
• Ability to adapt easily to change and multi-task;
• Ability to work cooperatively within a team;
• Good sense of judgment and ability to implement solutions;
• Experience with electronic medication system an asset.
