Who lives at Valleyview?

Our community is blessed with dedicated staff, kind and welcoming residents and such a welcoming environment, you feel it the moment you walk in the door.

We are proud to acknowledge the contribution our residents have made.  They have helped make Medicine Hat such a wonderful place to live and have served their country as well. We would like to acknowledge them and all our Veteran's as great citizens.

Meet two of our special residents!

Pat Patterson was born in Ottawa in 1914 and then lived in Vancouver and finally moved to Medicine Hat in 2001 with his wife Inez to be close to his two children, one daughter and one son. He served in WWII with the Canadian Army for 5 1/2 years overseas, he also served an additional 35 years in the Canadian Army and retired as a Major.  He then worked for Canadian Pacific Airlines in Vancouver for 15 years before moving to Medicine Hat.

Peter Lawson was born in Verigin Saskatchewan in 1922 and he married his wife Betty in 1944 and they had four sons together. They moved to Medicine Hat in 1950 and again in 1970.  Peter served in WWII with the Canadian Air force from 1942-1945 based out of Nova Scotia he was in the Operational Theatre which involved tracking submarines and shadowing the convoys.  He then moved to Prince Albert and was a correctional officer and social group worker in the Prince Albert prison for 8 years and then worked 6 years in the Prince Albert Federal penitentiary as a RTI.  When Peter and Betty moved back to Medicine Hat in 1970 he was a teacher at Medicine Hat High School for the next 15 years.
