Living with Friends, Creating a Community - My Neighbourhood
AgeCare Communities has a philosophy of "living in place," which is the key hallmark of our communities. We have all heard of "aging in place," and the concept is a good one, provided we are focused on living a vibrant and enriching life, over just remaining in one place.
We have supported and created, for over a decade, the concept of neighbourhood living. Within our communities, each floor and key resident room areas of our communities receive a name that resonates with our residents. Generally, historical names or key demographic landmarks have been used to assist our residents in finding their way back to their suites and to make each area of the building its own "community or neighbourhood." A warm and welcoming neighbourhood feeling creates a foundation for friendship and a sense of belonging to something special.
Further to this, some neighbourhoods are created with specialized care models, such as memory care neighbourhoods. We do our best to ensure that our residents are living and enjoying life, in the best possible setting, designed for their needs.
Our community features superior finishes and large welcoming resident/family amenity spaces.
Residents provide their own bed, dresser, comfortable chair or small 2 seat sofa for their private room.
Carpeting throughout to ensure the community has that homey feeling our residents really love. Carpeting also goes a very long way to keeping noise to a minimum as well.
Rooms feature modern "hardwood look" laminate flooring.
Each room has its own washroom complete with shower, sink and vanity area.
Each floor has its own spa room for residents who prefer (or require) a nice soak in a specialized spa tub, designed for this resident population.
Each floor has a dining room, TV lounge area and quiet lounge for residents and families to enjoy, avoiding those long walks to amenities and services for our senior population.
Our main floor has a theatre room, vending machines for goodies and access to our large, welcoming patio and walkway system.
Our rooms have been designed with the understanding that the mobility needs of our residents change, which is why our rooms are built to accommodate these potential changes.
