This Educator, Registered Nurse role is based out of our Brooks location and promotes and supports a positive learning climate modeling AgeCare’s four Guiding Principles, Trust, Respect, Quality and Teamwork. The successful candidate joins an engaged and diverse education team who work together to develop and implement teaching programs. This role is a key member of the community leadership team with both corporate and site responsibilities. They will use their knowledge as a Registered Nurse and skills of Adult Learning principles to connect with staff, residents and families in all aspects of this position. This individual is someone who is passionate about education, teaching and learning and will collaborate with community supports to ensure education is aligned with best practice standards.

This role must reside in or be willing to relocate to Brooks Alberta, or surrounding area, and have reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license for travel between Brooks, Medicine Hat and Lethbridge. Reimbursement for travel expenses is included

About this Educator Role:

What you’ll do:

  • Make a true difference everyday by enriching the quality of life of our residents by teaching, coaching and mentoring our staff both one on one and in group settings
  • Use your leadership skills and strong clinical knowledge to promote best practices in the areas of dementia care, medication management, infection prevention and control, end of life care, fall prevention, etc.
  • Use your creativity and enthusiasm for research and emerging trends to collaborate and connect with other staff and educators internally and externally and bring innovative ideas to the work place
  • Help our Seniors Communities be best in class by taking an active role in ensuring our care standards meet or exceed audit and accreditation standards

What you’ll need:

  • Reside in or be willing to relocate to Brooks Alberta or surrounding area, and have reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license for travel between Brooks, Medicine Hat and Lethbridge. Reimbursement for travel expenses is provided
  • Be an RN or RPN, registered with, or eligible for registration with CARNA/ CRPNA
  • 3 or more years continuing care/gerontology experience, being a CPR instructor would be an asset
  • Previous experience in education and quality management
  • Demonstrated success in mentoring, developing, leading care staff
