The Opportunity:

As part of the Corporate Human Resources team, the HR Advisor – OHS works under the direction of the Manager, HR Operations to assist the site management teams by supporting the assessment, development, and implementation of accommodation recommendations, absence/disability management, WCB case management, employee recognition/appreciation events/programs, job description/performance appraisal development and HR metrics.

About the Temporary Human Resource Advisor OHS role:

What you'll do

  • Monitor active WCB claims, track details on a tracking sheet and provide WCB metrics as required
  • Manage Long Term Disability Claims and Short-Term Disability Claims proactively and in collaboration with site management and our external partners
  • Collaborate with leadership members on job descriptions, performance appraisals, and HR Metrics
  • Compile data and run reports for the quarterly HR Balance Scorecard
  • Develops, maintains and oversees the employee appreciation and recognition programs
  • Support Site Management to ensure AgeCare processes and procedures are delivered in a timely manner
  • Track and monitor accommodation situations and follow up with HR Advisors as needed

What you'll need:

  • Certificate or diploma in Human Resources or equivalent in combined education and experience
  • CPHR designation an asset
  • Must have excellent English communication skills, both orally and in writing
  • 5-10 years progressive experience as Human Resources Generalist with prior HR experience within Senior’s Care environment a definite asset
  • Demonstrated success in positively influencing others
