AgeCare SkyPointe – Long Term Care (LTC) Mental Health Specialty Program

This program will provide Long Term Care (LTC) services for clients 18 years age and older with a primary diagnosis of a mental health disorder. An interdisciplinary team will provide creative and individualized care and behavior and symptom management.

Please note this position will alternate days between our Mental Health Specialty Program and Long Term Care.

About this full time position:

What you’ll do:

Ensure each resident is assessed to determine their occupational therapy needs and abilities and create an action plan that allows the residents to fully enjoy life
Engage and inspire a team of Therapy Aides in being their best in their interaction with residents and other team members
Participate in interdisciplinary team conferences and communicate progress with family members

What you’ll need:

Completion of an Occupational Therapy program from a Canadian accredited post secondary institution
Active registration with the Alberta College of Occupational Therapists
Experience in mental health is required
Proven experience preparing assessments and MDS
Experience in non-violent crisis intervention and behavioral management, would be an asset
