As we move into a different stage of the COVID-19 pandemic, the AgeCare leadership team is currently planning for the second wave of the COVID-19 pandemic. This includes debriefing on our response during the first wave – what worked well, what could be improved – alongside new initiatives and research.
At AgeCare, we strive to be leaders in seniors care and are exploring new and creative approaches in the delivery of care and services during the pandemic. We remain committed to ensuring our pandemic plan is up to date and robust, so we will be able to continue to provide quality care and services during the second wave.
For anyone who loves a good brain tease, PuzPuz Puzzles is offering free puzzles (crosswords, word searches, and sudokus) that can be done on a computer, tablet or printed off the website at www.puzpuzpuzzles.com.
For residents and families who want to brighten their day, a high-school class from Calgary developed a hotline for seniors in isolation. When you dial their local and toll-free numbers, you will be able to choose from several pre-recorded options so that you can listen to stories, kind messages, jokes, and more! The need to stay active, intellectually stimulated, and socially connected never ends – even during these unprecedented times. Our recreation team is working hard to create engaging activities to enrich the mind, body and spirit while ensuring residents can maintain appropriate physical distancing.
Our care team has been working very diligently to keep a balance between mental and physical health during the pandemic, and we cannot thank them enough for all of their efforts. We are so lucky to have the dedicated and caring team that we do!
