AgeCare Harmony Court Weekly Update for October 30, 2020: Tips for Safe Visits

Dear Resident or Family Member,

We remain committed to providing updates to our residents, families, and staff at AgeCare. As such, we are providing weekly updates to keep you all informed on what is happening at our communities and organization-wide.

  1. Information and announcements – this week, we are sharing tips for safe indoor social visits.
  2. Recreation calendars as the need to stay active, intellectually stimulated, and socially connected never ends.
  3. A weekly shout-out to celebrate the great work and activities happening at our AgeCare communities.

As we move into a different stage of the pandemic, our weekly updates will be sent from a central location rather than individually from each site. You will continue to receive them on Fridays.

We do hope that you find them helpful. Thank you all for your continued support.

A Guide to Visits (BC)

With the weather changing, we have identified designated spaces for social visits indoors for Harmony Court Estate and the Care Centre. Please see below on how you can book a time and make your visit as safe as possible.

With the COVID-19 cases continuing to rise and hit all-time highs, we ask families to re-evaluate their own need to be physically present based on the residents’ need to limit the number of people entering the site. We encourage you to consider staying connected through our virtual visitsPlease see below on how you can book a virtual visit.

We understand that this is a stressful and challenging time for everyone, especially our residents and their families. Still, the priority must be minimizing the resident’s exposure to the virus. We know and have seen the effect of COVID-19 in care home settings where seniors reside. They are the most vulnerable to the effects of this virus.

Together, through our collective efforts and adherence to the guidelines, we are doing all we can to protect our residents from the spread of the virus. Especially if we continue to understand our own unknown exposure to COVID-10 risk levelphysically distancewear masks and wash our hands often. It’s a message we cannot say enough.
