Greetings Residents and Family Members,
As the last pieces of straw are cleaned up from Stampede, we can all relax and enjoy the summer sunshine.
During this month, residents can look forward to new programs and more activities outside and in the sunroom patios. SkyPointe staff are working hard to open up the Atrium courtyard for independent use. Residents and family members will be notified as soon as this happens.
The Tuck Shop will be opening soon! Recreation staff and residents from our Whitehorn Neighbourhood are working together to put together a shop that will have various items for residents, family members and staff to purchase at a fair price. Grand opening date is set for August 19, 2019. Hours of operation will be posted outside of the shop when complete.
There will be no recreation programming on August 5th during Heritage Day but that will not affect The Nut Man’s visit. They will be setting up in the reception area at 3:30 pm that day.
With all this beautiful weather, a friendly reminder to practice safe sunning; sunscreen, sunglasses, light clothing and staying hydrated. In each neighbourhood dining room, there is a hydration station accessible to residents as well as on the main floor beside reception.
Residents can look forward to a Summer Carnival at the end of the month. Recreation staff will have different activities, prizes, and treats for residents to enjoy in the afternoon.
Please, take a look at our August newsletter (below) and program calendars for upcoming programs and events. If you have any questions or concerns, please, contact (587)619-6317! Or stop by the recreation office. Our general office hours are 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday to Saturday.
Yours sincerely,
Marlee Dukart, Recreation Therapy Manager
