November is the month of Remembrance. We will be holding a Remembrance Day Ceremony the day before the statutory holiday on November 10th at 10:00am. You are welcome to join us as we pay tribute to fallen soldiers and veterans. The ceremony will be followed by some war time music with Glenn Williams on piano.
Everyone likes variety for their meals, so the Recreation Department likes to offer residents an opportunity to enjoy special meals. For Ladies’ and Men’s Lunch we will be ordering in Chinese food. Later in the month, the bus will be driving to C-Lovers for some of the best fish and chips in Burnaby. Also, the kitchen likes to prepare a special dinner at least once a month. Family and friends are always welcome to join any meal. Take a look at the weekly meal schedule, located by/in the dining rooms to see what is being offered.
The bus will be heading out for two trips to a farm in Maple Ridge. Brian, our bus driver, has a friend with acreage and farm animals. If the weather is good the residents will be getting off the bus to walk the grounds and explore. We will have one Scenic Bus Trip for the month to Burnaby Lake. On these trips everyone stays on the bus and we take scenic routes to beautiful locations where we enjoy a snack before we head back home. Our Lunch Outing, as mentioned above, will be to C-Lovers; known for being one of the best and a top favorite meal of many residents.
Family and friends are always welcome to attend our special events, such as Pub Night, Birthday Parties, and our upcoming Country Dance. Check the calendar or Newsletter for dates and times. Join us for the live music, dancing with the residents and refreshments!
Stay dry this November,
Recreation & Volunteer Manager
