Recreation Newsletter & Program Calendars

July 2019

Howdy residents and family members,

Are you ready for the Greatest Outdoor Show on Earth? Because SkyPointe is! We are dusting off the ole’ cowboy hat for Stampede Week. Residents can participate in different stampede activities and programs and enjoy different stampede entertainment. On the 5th residents will get to watch the stampede parade and eat Timbits, enjoy and pancake breakfast on the 9th, cheers a root beer at the Country Jamboree on the 10th, and much more.

Looking for a nice place to relax and enjoy the outdoors? Residents and family members can enjoy the sun room patios on each neighbourhood. SkyPointe staff will be working hard in the first week of July to prepare the outdoor courtyard and Sunridge outdoor patio. Residents and family members will be notified when outdoor spaces are ready to use.

With the heat of summer upon us, SkyPointe staff would like to remind family members that it is important residents are equipped for those sunny days; hats, sunscreen, sunglasses, and drinking plenty of water. Everyone should be able to enjoy the sunshine safely.

The recreation department will be hosting a BBQ fundraiser on July 26th for residents, family members, and staff. Join the team anytime from 11-2 in the Atrium for a burger, pop and chips. All proceeds will go to outdoor recreation.

Thank you to all residents and family members that participated in the Resident & Family Experience Survey. Your feedback will improve the life of someone who truly matters… you or your loved one.

Please, take a look at our July newsletter (below) and program calendars for upcoming programs and events.  If you have any questions or concerns, please, contact (587)619-6317! Or stop by the recreation office. Our general office hours are 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday to Saturday.

Yours sincerely,

Marlee Dukart, Recreation Therapy Manager
