Recreation Newsletter and Program Calendars

July 2020

Howdy residents and family members,

It’s stampede time at SkyPointe! Staff have been working hard the past couple of weeks to put together fun and safe programming for residents to enjoy during our stampede days. The recreation team has distributed neighbourhood program calendars and a July newsletter to each resident. Please be advised, the weekly calendars could change day to day due to COVID19.

We all look forward to a sunny July. Residents, family members and friends can book outdoor visits 7 days a week! Bookings will occur at the top of the hour starting at 10:00 am and the last booking at 4:00 pm (with the exception of noon). On Tuesday and Thursday, bookings will be opened for 5:30 pm. Please check the newsletter below for the updated outdoor visitng process for SkyPointe and scheduling information.

Please, take a look at our July newsletter (below) and program calendars for upcoming programs and events.  If you have any questions or concerns, please, contact (587)619-6317! Or stop by the recreation office. Our general office hours are 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday to Saturday.

AgeCare SkyPointe Hospice

SkyPointe hospice welcomed its first resident on June 22, 2020. This could not have been possible without the dedication support of our residents, families and staff.

With the capacity of 15 beds, this is the only hospice in North East Calgary, allowing AgeCare to meet a need for 24/7 palliative care within the community we serve. The goal of hospice care is to treat the person rather than the disease and focus on quality of life. It surrounds the individual and family with a team consisting of professionals who not only manage pain and symptom challenges but also are attuned to emotional and spiritual issues.

SkyPointe Reflection Room

The reflection room is meant to serve and support all residents and the holistic wellness of the SkyPointe community. It allows individuals of all religious faiths and non-religious beliefs to experience a place for peace, prayer, meditation and/or reflection throughout the day.

  • Please do not remove items that have been placed thoughtfully in this space.
  • Please respect the sacredness of this by leaving food, drinks, electronics, and conversations outside.
