HISTORY OF MOTHER’S DAY
The Origin of Mother’s Day goes back to ancient Greece and the Romans. The history of Mother’s Day can even be traced in the United Kingdom and found it’s way to the United States. The celebration of Mother’s Day is not even 100 years old but now it is celebrated in 46 countries on different dates. People around the world take this day as an opportunity to recognize their Mother’s for their efforts in raising them and for their unconditional love.
This year, Mother’s Day is celebrated on Sunday, May 10, 2015.
HIGHLIGHTED MAY ACTIVITIES:
- Spring Tea and Vendors Market, SATURDAY, MAY 9, 2015. Tea tickets will be available at the door from 2:00-3:00 pm. The Market opens at 1:00 pm. Come out and enjoy the event the day before Mother’s Day.
- Seniors Week will be kicking off June 1 – 7; please check the Daily Board for events.
- To all those supporting the Sprout ‘n Grow Plant Sale. Monies will go towards the purchase of new plants for our outdoor planters.
- We are glad our outbreak is over and programming is back to the regular times. Thank you all for understanding and don’t forget ‘hand-washing’ is the best defense against spreading germs.
