New Supportive Living Seniors Community next to Calgary’s South Health Campus

We are proud to announce the opening of our new senior’s community on July 6, 2015. With the opening of AgeCare Seton we will be providing supportive living (SL4) and Dementia Care (SL4D) for up to 311 seniors in Calgary and area. Conveniently located in the heart of Seton next to the South Health Campus (Hospital), AgeCare Seton offers our residents a safe and secure home-like atmosphere where they and their families can be assured peace of mind.

AgeCare Seton is a 6 story building with private suites for seniors that include an ensuite bathroom. The design of AgeCare Seton has been carefully thought through to ensure it is functional and enjoyable for seniors.

The ground floor is open and airy with many of the common amenities that our residents enjoy including a large indoor courtyard, lounges, family dining room, activity zone, craft space, hair salon, and an exercise room.

Each of the 5 upper floors (neighbourhoods) has between 58 – 59 private suites. Each neighbourhood extends from a central space that has a dining room with a server, a TV lounge, an activity room and outside balcony. Each floor also has a spa room for residents who prefer (or require) a nice soak in a specialized spa tub, designed for this resident population. At the end of each wing there is a quiet lounge area a large exterior windows allowing for plenty of natural light.

“AgeCare was founded on the concept of living in place; enabling seniors, couples, and friendship circles to remain together within the same community as their care needs change,” says Dr. Hasmukh Patel, AgeCare’s Chief Executive Officer. “Seton will be our second comprehensive, multi- and inter-generational community.”

Once fully developed, AgeCare Seton will not only provide publicly funded continuing care in support of Alberta Health Services but also offer child day care services, seniors’ independent living apartments, and rental apartments for young individuals and families.

“We are proud to have partnered with the Alberta Government and Alberta Health Services to bring this unique continuing care community to Calgary,” says Dale Forbes, AgeCare’s President & Chief Operating Officer. “By bringing multiple generations together into one community, we hope to foster inter-generational living and provide our residents with the best quality of life experience possible.”
