The month of November is here with its colder weather and lots of rain. But if you look outside you get to see a vast array of beautiful colours from trees that come with the fall.
How can one not appreciate that!
We have a busy month coming up in November with a few bus trips and in house programs, so please sign up for these events and come out and enjoy some socialization with your fellow residents.
I would like to thank all of the Resident Volunteers who help around Harmony Court, from the library, helping to set up decorations and may more things. Thank you for all that you do,
You are very much appreciated!
The Christmas to Remember tree will be going up on November 15th in the Front Lobby. This is a tree that gives back to the community that we live in and the community outside our walls. The tree will hold tags that you can take off (please let Reception know, as they need to know which ones are gone) and you can buy whatever is on that tag, and anything else you may want to add. Our community has seniors who may need just a little extra help at Christmas time, and we want to give them as much as we can. So please grab a tag off of the tree and help us give back to those a little less fortunate than us. There are 3 ways that you can help this cause; register a senior in need, secret Santa (tags off tree) or volunteer to wrap and deliver.
As well we will have a memory tree that will be going up in the Fireside Lounge; you can put your loved ones memorial ornament on the tree for a $2 donation that goes to our Christmas hampers.
We will also have the yearly food donation bin out after Remembrance Day. This will be by the Reception desk and we are looking for non-perishable items (canned goods, toilet paper, and toiletries) that will also go to seniors in need and the seniors society.
To honor our vets on Remembrance Day there will be a Tea on Thursday November 10th. Please join us for this event.
“Remember our fallen heroes they are the reason we are free!”
Have a great November!
