Sagewood Launches New Clubs for Residents

Twelve of Sagewood Seniors Community’s residents have started a sewing club!

The club members currently meet once a week to work on sewing projects as a group. They are currently working on a caddy to be used for the front of a walker or the back of a wheelchair. The sewing club, which is overseen by recreation staff and volunteers, will be working on a quilt once the caddy is finished. The group is excited about the progress they are making on their first big project and can’t wait for the next one!

Sagewood has also started hosting its own book club for residents, which has received extremely positive feedback so far!

Club members currently meet once a week in the front lounge to listen to audio books from the local library. The group gathers around with their blankets and listens to one chapter at a time before taking a break to discuss it. The group of ten is enjoying the book club immensely and want to start meeting twice a week!
