Dear residents and family members,
Happy New Year! Can you believe its already 2019? Time flies when you are having fun!
As we reflect on the past year, I hope we can all agree, SkyPointe has been busy; opening our doors to our first residents in June, hosting a variety of fun Stampede events in July, expanding recreational programs and activities to each neighbourhood in August, working together with our residents and family members during our first Family Resident Council Meeting in October, growing our SkyPointe family in November with our new volunteer program, and sharing new and old holiday traditions with our SkyPointe family in December. What an exciting year it has been. We cannot wait to see what the next year will bring to the SkyPointe community.
With the holidays coming to a happy end, the recreation team continues to plan fun and exciting programs for our residents. This month the Expressive Art program will begin again, the SkyPointe Sports League will start Ring Toss Thursday afternoons, the Elegant Dining Experience has been rescheduled for the 9th, and we will be celebrating Robbie Burns Day with the Burns Unit at the end of the month.
The flu season is in full swing! As a friendly reminder, please practice proper hand hygiene and if you are feeling under the weather, stay home, rest up, and come in for a visit when you feel better. During a declared outbreak, recreation programs and activities will be subjected to change. Group programs will be limited to neighbourhoods without outbreak and facility programs will be cancelled.
Please, take a look at our online December newsletter and program calendars for upcoming programs and events. If you have any questions or concerns, please, contact (587)619-6317! Or stop by the recreation office. Our general office hours are 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday to Saturday.
Today is not the end, today is the beginning of a new chapter for the SkyPointe community and its residents and the recreation department cannot wait to write it with you! Wishing you and yours all the best in the New Year!
