Hello residents and family members,
April Showers (snow) Bring May Flowers. The recreation team is starting to think about the different outdoor programs and activities that residents will be able to enjoy outdoors over the next few months. Please be sure to have appropriate clothing and accessories when heading outside (sunglasses, sunscreen, spring jacket, etc.) The May program calendars are full of fun and new activities as we move towards the summer months.
May is a special month for our all our Mothers. To celebrate the wonderful women at SkyPointe, there will be a special Mother’s Day Tea with musical entertainment on May 11th with several different supporting programs. Even if you are not a mother, we want to honor you; It takes a village to raise a child!
You will see different sign up programs on the calendar for residents to enjoy; three different in house lunches, a cat café, and several different expressive art classes. Signup sheets can be found outside the recreation office on the recreation bulletin board or residents can attend the What’s up in Recreation? program on their neighbourhood to review the calendar and newsletter and sign up for the programs and activities they would like to attend.
SkyPointe residents have been working hard every Monday for the last several months during the Expressive Art Classes. On May 29th, SkyPointe will be hosting an Art Show to display the creative pieces; residents, staff and family members can come during the afternoon and evening to check out the different displays and have a chance to bid on their favorite piece during our silent auction.
Please, take a look at our May newsletter and program calendars for upcoming programs and events. If you have any questions or concerns, please, contact (587)619-6317! Or stop by the recreation office. Our general office hours are 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday to Saturday.
Yours sincerely,
Marlee Dukart, Recreation Therapy Manager

The Recreation Department has teamed up with Tails to Tell Animal Rescue Shelter to bring SkyPointe residents a Cat Cafe. Residents will have a chance to visit with a number of different kitty cats. Each neighbourhood will have a blocked time for the resident to come down to the cafe! If you have any questions, feel free to contact the Recreation Department!
