Dear residents and family members,
The frenzy of fall is slowly subsiding, pumpkins have been carved and everyone has begun to pull out their cozy sweaters.
This past month residents were busy! We cheered on the Stampeders during SkyPointe’s Annual Tailgate Party, celebrated Oktoberfest with musical entertainment and German Dancers, and celebrated SPOOKY Halloween with a stiff pumpkin carving contest between all residents and staff, had a costume parade and dance in the afternoon and musical entertainment in the evening. October was a wonderful month of activities and celebrations!
The fun continues as we move into the new month. SkyPointe will be hosting a Remembrance Day Ceremony in the atrium for residents, staff, and guests to honour our Veterans and those who have bravely fought for our country. Resident veterans and veteran wives will be welcomed to participate in ceremony. Everyone is encouraged to come to ceremony. Residents can sign up for the Memorial Stay on the Bus Drive and have the chance to see the Field of Crosses downtown and continue down the beautiful Bow checking out how much the city has changed.
Happy birthday to our Whitehorn Neighbourhood! SkyPointe’s Whitehorn neighbourhood has officially been open for 1 year! Residents and staff from the neighbourhood will be celebrating with a special get together! SkyPointe is fortunate to have available leaders who can bring their expertise to the neighbourhood and are honored to have all our special residents residing with us! Please see the special event and program list for more exciting events happening for our residents.
With the winter holiday’s fast approaching, the Recreation Department has dedicated the end of the month to decorating the facility. Our residents can help decorate and set up for the season, or at least reminisce and enjoy some hot coco. SkyPointe staff will be hosting a Elegant Dining Experience: European Tour for resident and their family members to enjoy on December 11th. Please look forward to more details and where to purchase tickets.
Please, take a look at our November newsletter (below) and program calendars for upcoming programs and events. If you have any questions or concerns, please, contact (587)619-6317! Or stop by the recreation office. Our general office hours are 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday to Saturday.

While age doesn’t have much to do with oral health, the conditions that come with old age do. Dental care for seniors needs to look a bit different than oral care for any other age.
Arthritis and drugs used for various illnesses can make it harder to brush and floss, and can lead to changes in the mouth that cause problems like gum disease, tooth loss, and root decay. We recommend following these guidelines for a healthy, beautiful smile all throughout your senior years. Read more.
