Hello residents and friends,
It’s hard to believe it is October already! The recreation team has been working hard the past couple of weeks to put together an amazing October month for our residents. We are looking to celebrating the upcoming holidays and adding old programming to the calendars with new and safe implementation procedures.
Residents can sign up for two different in-house lunches. There will be a KFC in-house lunch for long term care residents on the 8th and a Swiss Chalet lunch for supportive living residents on the 27th. Residents are encouraged to sign up with the recreation department as soon as possible. In-house lunches are an at cost program (trust account required) and sign up program. Residents are required to sign up for the meal at least 24 hours prior to program occurring and have a trust account to participate. In-House meals will be bolded and marked with a dollar sign ($) on the program calendar. There will be a maximum of 12 participants/meal and residents will only be able to participate in one in-house lunch during the month. Resident’s diets will be taken into consideration and may restrict them from participating in program.
On October 13th, Rick Kelly will be performing for SkyPointe outdoors. Residents can enjoy the outdoor concert from their neighbourhood sunroom or from a safe distance in the roundabout. The music will continue throughout the month with the Atrium Concert Series. The concert series is bringing music back to warm resident hearts and fire up their soul. On October 8th and 22nd residents can come and view a different concert. Residents can watch Elton John with a stadium crowd and sit in the Grand Ole Opry listening to country crooners.
With the fall the weather moving in, residents, friends and family members can book video calls with the recreation department. Calls can bee booked Monday – Sunday from 10:00 am to 11:00 am and 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm with two evening times on Tuesday and Thursday from 5:30 pm to 6:30 pm.
Please take a look at the newsletter below and October program calendars. If you have any questions or concerns, please, contact me! Or stop by the recreation office. Our general office hours are 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday to Saturday.
Yours sincerely,
Marlee Dukart, Recreation Therapy Manager
