AgeCare SkyPointe is a unique community that offers high quality, compassionate, resident-centered care in a culturally rich and diverse environment. With the capacity of 352 funded beds, the building is nestled in one of the most multi-cultural areas of Calgary.
The vision for AgeCare SkyPointe is to provide a home-like environment that will reflect the cultural preferences and tastes of its residents; including dining experiences and recreational programming. AgeCare SkyPointe is a vibrant seniors care community that celebrates and supports aging with dignity, independence and community interaction. At full occupancy, the AgeCare SkyPointe team will grow to approximately 400 compassionate and dedicated team members ready to serve its residents.

Services
Supportive Living
(SL3 or SL4): A home-like setting for individuals who are unable to thrive in their own home. They require personal supports such as meals, housekeeping, laundry, recreation and social activities. An Alberta Health Services (AHS) Case Manager oversees all resident care and care plans. Supportive Living is appropriate for people whose health care needs are predictable and can be scheduled. In SL3 Health Care Aides (HCAs) are on-site 24 hours a day to provide support, scheduled personal care, and medication assistance. The HCAs report to a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or a Registered Nurse (RN), who are on-site periodically, but not all the time. In SL4 a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)and Health Care Aides(HCAs)are on-site 24 hours a day to provide support, scheduled personal care, and manage medications.
Long-Term Care
A home-like setting for individuals with complex, unpredictable medical needs who are unable to remain at home or in a Supportive Living setting. A Registered Nurse Care Leader oversees all elements of resident care. They lead an interdisciplinary team that include Registered Nurses (RNs), Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs), Heath Care Aides (HCAs), Occupational Therapists (OTs), Physio Therapists (PTs), Recreational Therapists (RTs), and Social Workers.

The community
AgeCare SkyPointe is open and spacious — the perfect hub for the many activities that our residents can enjoy — featuring bright private suites, welcoming dining rooms, lounges, and a spiritual reflection room to provide a sacred space for all who wish to use it. We also have a large outdoor courtyard, movie theatre, atrium, activity zone, hair salon, fitness center, on-site dental services and a children’s daycare. The 2nd floor, above the atrium, is home to a bright, inviting solarium/greenhouse and expansive patio where our residents can relax and soak in the sunshine.
Each neighborhood houses two dining rooms with scenic views of the property, two welcoming fireplace lounges, spacious patios and a flex room. In the center of each wing (west and east) residents have access to a larger lounge ideal for family gatherings. For residents seeking a quiet reflection space to read, each wing offers a seating space with full-length windows for plenty of natural light.
The building was designed with attention to detail, emphasizing safety and functionality, including wide hallways, handrails, barrier-free suites, accessible showers, and an emergency call system.

AgeCare SkyPointe Hospice is a unique community that offers high quality, compassionate, person-centered care in a culturally rich and diverse community. Our vision is to provide a home-like environment that offers a peaceful and supportive atmosphere for end-of-life care.
In hospice, we treat the person rather than the disease and focuses on your quality of life, surrounding you with a team of professionals who help manage your pain and symptoms as well as your emotional and spiritual wellbeing. A guest suite is also available for visiting family and friends.
Referrals
Referrals to AgeCare SkyPointe Hospice can only be made by a palliative home care case manager or a palliative care consultant. If you think hospice may be right for you or your loved one, talk to your physician or home care case manager.
